Familiarization

Concept

In order to slowly get used to the new environment and the new caregivers, the settling-in period is adapted to the child's pace. The settling-in period can only take place in close cooperation with the parents. For your child, but also for you as parents, the transition from the family to an institution is a fundamental change in family life.

Our approach

Please give yourself and your child enough time to master this phase and to take your time. We have set a settling-in period of two months so that you can settle in with sufficient calm and composure. For many, this period sounds very long at first. For us as a facility, however, this period has proven to be very appropriate. Be aware that there will also be difficult days for your child during this time. It is often only after two to three weeks that your child becomes estranged from their caregiver and then realizes that they have to leave you. At this time, your child is not aware of how long this separation will be and when you will return. You are your child's caregiver and it will take time for your child to see the new teacher as a person of trust. Please give your child this time and be a pillar of support. It is precisely because of these experiences that we set the settling-in period higher.

During the first 5 to 10 days, you will accompany your child for the entire time. There is no separation, you can actively participate in what is happening in the group and clarify open questions with the educator. Over the course of the days, we will increase the length of the stay and decide together with you when your child will stay with the group teacher without a parent. We will keep a close eye on your child at all times and keep you informed about the process and the integration into the group. Help your child during this time and strengthen their self-confidence. Familiar things often help and a cuddly toy, scarf or other object will give your child confidence.

The second month of acclimatization begins with a 4.5-hour stay. Your child takes part in both breakfast and lunch and can experience all activities with the group.

From the third month, you can receive your desired childcare time of up to 9 hours and your child can sleep with the other children in the daycare center.

Interested parents are welcome to attend our toddler afternoons before joining the crèche. These always take place on the first Wednesday of the month from 3.00 pm to 4.00 pm. On these afternoons, you have the opportunity to get to know the facility as well as the children and teachers.
