We work according to the open concept in our facility, which means that the children are free to choose their activities, lounges, caregivers and playmates after school - the child thus takes on an active role and can freely organize their day at the after-school care center.
The after-school teachers support the pupils throughout the day, always adapting their work to the children's needs. The teachers also accompany the free play - they observe and reflect on the children's behavior. If desired, they can act as play partners or, based on their observations, can also offer appropriate activities according to the current interests of the after-school children.
As we attach great importance to experiences in nature, a forest day takes place every Friday (weather permitting). Participation in the forest day is also voluntary. Birthday parties are also held on Fridays in our after-school care center.
The open after-school care concept is only applied in our facility from the 2nd school year onwards.
In the first semester of Year 1, we believe it is primarily important for the children to find their way around their new class group, get to know their new classmates and explore everyday school and after-school life together in a fixed group. The respective teacher spends the whole day with their class in the class group. From the second half of the school year, the first graders are then gradually introduced to the open after-school care concept.
Pupils from Year 2 onwards can decide for themselves what activities they want to do and where they want to spend their time after school and when after-school care begins.
Various rooms are available to the children in our afternoon care program
Naturally, the children have the opportunity to turn to an educator at any time. They are responsible for supervision in the respective rooms so that the children are never left to their own devices and always have a contact person or, if desired, a play partner available to them.
The following rooms are available to the children:
In our after-school care center, snacks are offered daily in the form of a varied and rich buffet. We attach great importance to a healthy diet.
The children have the opportunity to have their snack between 13:00 and 14:00. It is up to each child to decide how late they want to have their snack. The teachers supervise the children during the meal.
The pupils in class 1 then have lunch together in class from 2 pm.
Every Monday and Wednesday from 13.15 - 14.30 there is a homework supervision service for all classes. The children have the opportunity to complete their homework under the supervision and with the support of a teacher. Our aim is for the children to complete most of their homework independently, as this is the only way they can consolidate what they have already learned.
Class 1 pupils do their homework every day in class with their teacher.
Every Tuesday and Thursday from 2.00 - 3.00 pm, various all-day activities take place. At the beginning of the school year, the children have two weeks to get a taste of different all-day activities and should then decide on 1 or 2 fixed GTAs, which are then attended regularly.
The all-day activities are offered by after-school teachers as well as teachers and external specialists.
The following all-day programs are currently offered:
Our vacations are a special highlight of every school year. During the vacations, we offer all-day care from 6.00 am to 5.00 pm for our after-school children. We always try to offer the children a varied program with great excursions, but also enough space for relaxation and free play.
Before the start of the vacations, the pupils receive a vacation schedule and can then register for the various program items. Our vacation program always has a specific motto, according to which the corresponding activities and excursions are offered.
